Bivocational Ministers and Wives Retreat
On the last weekend in February twenty bivocational ministers and their wives gathered at the beautiful Stonewall Jackson Resort for the Nineteenth Annual Bivocational Ministers and Wives Retreat.
Coleman and Tracy Pratt returned for their second year as the retreat leaders. Coleman is the pastor of Grace Journey Community Church, Orlando, Florida, of the Florida Baptist Convention. WVCSB staff members Bill Henard, Tim Turner and Cleve Persinger also attended the retreat. Tim and Cleve led the music for the retreat. Tim brought the devotional message.
The theme for the retreat was “A Renewed Vision for a New Day,” a study of Zechariah 4. The study was broken into five sessions. In three sessions the men and their wives were together. On Saturday morning Coleman led the men and Tracy led the women in separate sessions. The final session of the retreat was devoted to a time of sharing and prayer. The retreat provided the ministers and their wives a great time of fellowship, encouragement, strengthening, and plenty of good food for the body and spirit.
The retreat is made possible through the WVCSB churches Cooperative Program giving and the partnership with the Florida Baptist Convention. Numerous pieces of helpful material was made available to the men to strengthen themselves and their ministry by the Bivocational and Smaller Church Leadership Network.
Next year we will celebrate the twentieth annual retreat. We are looking forward to a great group, so go ahead and mark the last weekend in February 2018 on your calendar and plan to join us for this special occasion.
