Snedden-Slaughter Scholarship Recipients

Two students were awarded the JOHN I. SNEDDEN SCHOLARSHIP for students preparing for the ministry in July, 2010.

Josh HornerJosh Horner

Josh Horner is pictured with his wife, Casey. Josh is a student at Southern Seminary. Josh is the son of Mike and Sherri Horner. Joshís dad, Mike, is pastor of Williams Creek Baptist Church, Immanuel Association. Josh will use the $200 scholarship to help with expenses of classes.

Josh believes God has called him to the preaching ministry. He is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree. Josh believes God has gifted him for the pastoral ministry. He is a graduate of Williamstown High School.

Sarah CoxSarah Cox

Also a winner of the Snedden Scholarship was Sarah Cox. Sara is a student at Blue Mountain College in Mississippi. She believes God has called her to career missions. Sarah anticipates majoring in math education. She is a graduate of Pikeview High School.

Sara hopes to graduate this year (2013). She plans to go to the mission field and be a teacher in a missionary school for missionaries’ children.

Allen Carbaugh Allen Carbaugh

The 2011 recipient of the scholarship was Allen Carbaugh.

Allen is the son of Richard and Carol Carbaugh. Richard is pastor of FBC Grandview. Allen is a student at Southeastern Seminary. He is studying for the counseling ministry.

Russ & Leah Billo Russ & Leah Billo

The 2012 recipient of the grant was Russ Billo. Russ is a student at Southeastern Seminary. He and Leah were married just prior to leaving for seminary. He is studying for the pastoral ministry.
